Significance of Jagannath Rath Yatra

🕉️ Jagannath Rath Yatra has a great significance in Hinduism. According to beliefs, after taking out the Rath Yatra, Lord Jagannath is taken to the famous Gundicha Mata Temple.Heavy preparations are made in Gundicha Mata temple and water is brought from Indradyuman Sarovar to clean the temple. The biggest importance of the Yatra is that it is celebrated like a festival all over India. Jagannath temple is considered one of the four Dhams.The chariot of Lord Balabhadra is at the fore in the Jagannath Rath Yatra, in the middle is the chariot of Lord Krishna's sister Subhadra and lastly.

🕉️ This yatra is organized since Dawapar period. When Lord Krishna's sister Subhadra expressed her desire to visit the city. After this, a Rath Yatra was organized for Subhadra's city tour. Three chariots were made for this journey and on these chariots, Lord Krishna and Balarama had taken sister Subhadra to the city. 

🕉️ This tradition has been going on since time immemorial. In modern times three wooden chariots are made. Lord Jagannath has a huge chariot, which has 16 wheels. Whereas Balarama's chariot has 14 and Subhadra's chariot has 12 wheels, which are pulled by the devotees with their hands. This time, after 2500 years, Rath Yatra has been taken out without devotees.
